Since the introduction of cross-tube steam boilers, Heatco International has been a significant player in the boiler manufacturing and central heating industries in Egypt. Heatco began manufacturing vertical cross-tube steam boilers in 1971 for use in small spinning and weaving enterprises without access to electricity or fossil fuels. These boilers are used to heat remote areas and are fired by wood and agricultural waste. Heatco was the first privately owned business to get a manufacturing license in 1974 and began producing multi-pass horizontal fire tube boilers in order to compete with the sizable government-owned firm "Al Maragel". acquiring 20% of the government business and 40% of the private market at the time. The factory was upgraded with CNC, plasma cutting, and welding machines in the late 1980s to produce in accordance with the TÜV standard, and it started a partnership with Tipton Oklahoma in the production of solar concentrators. It also became Egypt's largest supplier of boilers and storage tanks to the armed forces and hospitals. Heatco began exporting to Arab nations in the early 1990s, opened a branch there called "Al Ameriia," and changed its name to Heatco International. Heatco International grew its business by investing in key sectors that Egypt's economy began to develop in during the late 1990s and the early 2000s, including healthcare, tourism, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage manufacturing, spinning and weaving, chemicals, and heavy industry throughout Egypt. After that, Heatco International established a new partnership with the top German boiler manufacturer "HAGGER KESSEL" and began producing its products in accordance with the new approved designs, as well as third-party approvals from organizations like "Lloyd's Register" and Egyptian universities like Ain Shams and Cairo Universities, which trusted Heatco's boilers as educational equipment in their labs.
